What does a real financial plan look like?

Most people have never seen one before they pay for one. Here's a sample of the analysis our clients receive — starting with a complete tax breakdown for a hypothetical household.

Hypothetical example. No personal information required.

Inside the tax analysis

This eight-page analysis was built for a hypothetical married couple — business owners with investment income — to show how we translate a tax return into planning decisions. It includes:

  • A plain-language summary of income, deductions, credits, and total tax
  • Federal bracket-by-bracket breakdown with room left before the next bracket
  • Capital gains and qualified dividend treatment at preferential rates
  • Self-employment tax, net investment income tax, and state tax exposure
  • A prioritized list of planning opportunities with estimated savings
  • Key thresholds and risks to monitor year over year

Beyond the tax return

What a complete plan covers

The tax analysis is one chapter. A full plan connects every piece of your financial life.

Net worth & cash flow

A clear balance sheet and spending picture, so every decision starts from accurate numbers instead of guesses.

Retirement income strategy

Which accounts to draw from, in what order, and when — coordinated with Social Security, pensions, and tax brackets.

Risk & estate review

Insurance gaps, beneficiary designations, and estate documents checked against what your plan actually assumes.

A full sample retirement plan is coming soon. In the meantime, see how our planning service works.

Common questions

Before you look

What does a financial plan from Lock Wealth Management include?

A plan typically covers your full balance sheet and cash flow, a tax analysis with bracket and deduction strategy, retirement income and withdrawal sequencing, investment allocation, and an estate and insurance review. The sample tax analysis on this page shows the level of detail one section receives.

Is the sample tax analysis based on a real client?

No. The sample uses a hypothetical couple with invented figures. It is provided for illustration only, so you can see the format and depth of the analysis before sharing anything about your own situation.

Do I need to move my investments to get a plan?

No. Planning is a standalone service starting at $250 per month, with no requirement to move assets. Investment management is a separate, optional conversation.

How is my information handled if I become a client?

Your documents and data are kept confidential and are never shared in marketing materials. Any sample document we publish uses hypothetical households only.
